Studio Time

dismantled stained glass window for restoration
part of the dismantled stained glass window

So here is a time lapse showing a panel from a Church window being dismantled. All the panels are taken apart and are rebuilt with new lead. Each piece of glass is cleaned with wire wool to remove the years of grime and any cracked bits are repaired. The window will then be re leaded.

We have been away working on location at the church for the last 4 weeks, its nice to spending some time in the studio. Its no less hard work, it just means I get to go home to my own flat at the end of the day and not a hotel for a whole week. But then again there isnt a full cooked breakfast waiting for me when i get up in my own flat…… will someone make me eggs?
